Oh (No) Canada!

Canada's Supreme Court recently ruled that gay marriage is constitutional. Waiting on approval by a majority of the House of Commons is the question whether to legalize same-sex unions nationwide. Prime Minister Paul Martin said his cabinet would introduce the legislation right after the holidays. Belgium and the Netherlands already accept sodomite marriages and Canada is giving every indication of following suit. Ready to 'change with the times,' the court said: "Several centuries ago, it would have been understood that marriage be available only to opposite-sex couples. The recognition of same-sex marriage in several Canadian jurisdictions [judges in six Canadian provinces and one territory]as well as two European countries belies the assertion that the same is true today."

National Treasure

Nicholas Cage turns into an Indiana Jones character in his new movie "National Treasure" (someone wrote it was like seeing 'Indiana Clones and the Templars of Doom'). The movie's plot line, of assorted facts and much fiction, is that an order of European Knights (Knights Templars founded in 1118-9 to protect Christian pilgrims on their way to the Holy Land) had amassed a huge amount of priceless treasure. It was brought to the United States and hidden by Masons in a secret location to keep it out of the hands of the British. In the movie "National Treasure", Cage plays Benjamin Franklin Gates - a treasure hunter tracking clues and unravelling mysteries as he traces down the elusive Templar treasure.

I haven't seen the movie but according to traditional tale, the Knights Templar discovered the greatest treasure in human history buried beneath the Temple of Solomon in Jerusalem. What is true, scholars say, is that the knights became wealthy and powerful, and they may have rivaled the influence of some European kings. The Templars captured Jerusalem during the Crusades and were known as “keepers of the Holy Grail”, said to be the cup used at the Last Supper or as the receptacle used by Joseph of Arimathea to catch Christ’s blood as he bled on the Cross. Some say it was both. Interest in the Templars and the Holy Grail is at an unprecedented high after the success of books such as The Da Vinci Code, by Dan Brown, and the earlier Holy Blood Holy Grail, by Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh and Henry Lincoln, which claimed that Jesus survived the crucifixion, married and settled in France.

The movie, as others have pointed out, says that America was wholly founded by Freemasons (Knights Templars) and that it was their intent to establish a new order. A new world order constructed on the same platform as Ancient Egypt and its mystery religion was established. The deduction: America's National Heritage is Ancient Egypt.

Playing For Jesus

An AP story recently revealed that the National Football League is telling Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger that he can't have the letters P-F-J (meaning Play For Jesus) on his shoes. Roethlisberger has had P-F-J on all his playing shoes since high school. The AP story said: "The NFL told Roethlisberger to remove the initials and the number 40 -- in honor of the late Arizona Cardinals safety Pat Hillman, who was killed in Afghanistan -- or else he'd face a $5,000. The NFL does not permit players to display personal messages on uniforms." Roethlisberger indicated to reprters that he doesn't make the rules and doesn't want to break them. He also said he would still carry the message albeit it not as visibly.

1666 - The Moscow Council deposed Russian Orthodox Patriarch Nikon, 61. 1712 - The South Carolina colony passed a "Sunday Law" requiring "all...persons whatsoever" to attend church each Sunday, to refrain from skilled labor, and to do no traveling by horse or wagon beyond the necessary. Flew Symptoms

Antony Flew, the famous British philosophy professor, has championed the ideas of atheism for more than a half-century. Born the son of a Methodist minister, he turned atheist at age 15. Flew made waves in his 1950 article "Theology and Falsification." The die-hard atheist Flew has recently announced that he has, at 81 years of age, changed his mind. He now believes in God - at least in one that started the 'creation' off to its start. Flew says in the new video, "Has Science Discovered God?," that biologists' investigation of DNA "has shown, by the almost unbelievable complexity of the arrangements which are needed to produce (life), that intelligence must have been involved." “What I think the DNA material has done is show that intelligence must have been involved in getting these extraordinarily diverse elements together,” he said. “The enormous complexity by which the results were achieved look to me like the work of intelligence.” Flew's video statement makes it clear that he sees God's hand active not only in the big bang, but in the specific creation of life.

Earlier this year, Flew wrote a letter to Britain's Philosophy Now magazine (August-September issue) saying, "It has become inordinately difficult even to begin to think about constructing a naturalistic theory of the evolution of that first reproducing organism. In other words, a purely naturalistic Darwinism is insufficient to explain the existence of life. Don't count him a believer in Christianity or other religion just yet. According to the AP his only confession: "He accepts Darwinian evolution but doubts it can explain the ultimate origins of life." Maybe now that he stopped denying God maybe Flew can find the Creator God of the bible. Or lead other young atheists to at least consider that the world's leading atheist, after over 50 years of study and debate, has concluded that God does indeed exist.

Witchual Wedding

A recent news item: 36 yr old Elizabeth Miklosovic, seventh-grade language-arts teacher at Baseline Middle School in South Haven, Michigan faces a possible life sentence for her alleged conduct with a former 14-year-old female student. Miklosovic "married" the young girl in a pagan ritual and now faces first and second-degree criminal sexual conduct charges.The Muskegon Chronicle reported that Detective Sgt. Dianne Oppenheim said, "They also participated in witchcraft together."

Natural Law

At a European Salesian conference on "Globalization and Europe" in Italy, the governor of the Bank of Italy, Antonio Fazio said that "natural law" is needed to forge ahead with current globalization trends. Although he favors Globalization, he said it has "not yet created the guidelines, an approach capable of dealing with and regulating higher values: civil, political or social among the peoples of the different continents and nations. Praising the Pope and the Catholic Church, Fazio explained that "Globalization needs to be controlled to avoid creating divisions between countries and geographical areas." Fazio indicated that, "Natural law properly understood, can provide the basis for legislation." It is "necessary to promote policies that ensure democratic participation, that respect the principles of natural law, and are directed toward respect for man," he added. There is a growing trend among the global players to use this term 'natural law' and it may end up being defined by the Noachide Laws as we have indicated in past issues of the Clipz.

Your Papers Please

The recent anti-terrorism bill signed into action by President Bush have some fearing a National ID program which could strangle their liberties. The new intelligence bill requires the U.S. Departments of Transportation and Homeland Security to establish minimum identification standards for drivers' licenses, birth certificates and other forms of state-issued ID. If a state's license does not meet the standards in two years, federal agencies will not be allowed accept it as valid identification for such purposes as boarding airplanes and many other common transactions of daily life. Minimum standards for birth certificates will be set by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and also must be in place in two years.

Leslie Phillips, spokeswoman for Sen. Joe Lieberman, D-Conn., who co-authored the original bill told reporters, "In no way is (the bill) intended (to create) a national ID. This applies only to drivers. The point is to ensure the identity of the person using the identification card. ... We are trying to balance the rights of the citizens and the need for the country to crack down on terrorists." John Hurson, president of the National Conference of State Legislatures has called efforts to establish minimum standards for drivers' licenses "nothing more than an end-run on states' rights."
