beside the river with Sabbath prayers

There lay your burdens down?

His blood to cleanse sin's stain?

To face His foes and defend His law

Only on His grace to rest?

And to ask "why will you die?"

Are you ready, Holy Saints, patiently with prayer

To keep His commandments and have faith

And on Jesus cast all care?

Are you ready, Martyr, to love with dying breath

God's enemies as they test your faith

To lay down your life in death?

Will you tremble or rejoice?
