Upon The Sabbath Day

The Sabbath Day a loving feast,

holy rest for great to least,

no work at all for man and beast,

upon the Sabbath Day.

The Sabbath Day a commandment test,

for His people that he blest,

come ye all from East to West,

Upon the Sabbath Day.

The Sabbath Day of holy cheer,

the Lord of Sabbath is drawing near,

To those His holy name they fear,

Upon the Sabbath Day

The Sabbath Day you shall holy keep,

His sacred blessings are yours to reap,

Enter His Rest - not spiritual sleep,

Upon the Sabbath Day.

The Sabbath Day is all day long,

so enjoy a psalm and praise in song,

And read His Word to whom you belong,

Upon the Sabbath Day.

To the glory and honor of the Lord of the Sabbath: Jesus Christ.

Genesis 2:2-3 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Exodus 20:8-11 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Luke 6:5 And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

Mark 2:27-28 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
